The Spherical series will launch at AXPONA
Austin, TX, April 5, 2024---Sadurni Acoustics is well-known for Jorge Sadurni's impressive pure horn loudspeakers, refined for over a decade. Those horn speakers have astounded reviewers, show-goers, and musicians alike with the lifelike, dynamic sound they produce. While the current Sadurni Staccato horns represent the ultimate, all-out approach to music reproduction, many admirers have requested a speaker with the character and DNA of the horns without their size, complexity, or expense. After years of experimentation and development, Sadurni Acoustics is proud to introduce the Spherical series of speakers at Axpona, room 1509.
Each Spherical Dual loudspeaker pairs two cast-metal modules containing highly efficient 5" cone dynamic drivers. Both drivers are operated full-range without crossovers; thus the drivers are connected directly to an amplifier, providing optimal control and responsiveness. The driver size provides clarity and tweeter-like precision in the upper frequencies, while maintaining strong output in the upper bass region. The Duals are designed specifically to couple to subwoofers when used in larger rooms, with multiple options available. The resulting systems produce balanced, immersive sound, with the characteristic Sadurni sense of reality. At Axpona, the Duals will be demonstrated with Sadurni's MCS (Metal Cast Subwoofer) subs, which have enclosures cast in the same non-resonant alloy as the Duals.
Each driver is housed in a distinctive tear-shaped cabinet, optimizing internal diffraction while providing a spherical wavelaunch. Combined with the full-range point-source drivers, an exceptional soundstage is created, providing a totally involving listening experience. Enclosures are cast from an alloy with exceptional self-damping characteristics; the solidity and weight of the enclosures eliminates the colorations and distortions created by conventional box cabinets.
"I've wanted to produce a small speaker with the character of my horns for a long time, and the Spherical Series speakers offer a taste of the horn character," said Jorge Sadurni. "Our Staccato horns are the ultimate, but many listeners need a smaller solution with lifelike sound. The Spherical Series provide that. We think listeners at Axpona will be very impressed. Spherical Dual specifications:
Our top of the line system features two 5-inch extended-range drivers in tandem, with a sensitivity of 98 dB/w/m and a nominal impedance of 4 ohms. Each cast enclosure of the Dual system is 15” H/6 ½" W/ 9” D, and weighs 20 pounds.
Spherical series speakers pair well with subwoofers, with several models offered by Sadurni. MSRP of the Spherical Duals is $ 4,600.00/pair, including integrated stands.
